The Bal Swan Approach
Bal Swan places a significant emphasis on nurturing social-emotional development—a process in which children acquire and effectively apply the essential knowledge, attitudes, and skills required to comprehend and manage their emotions, set and attain positive objectives, cultivate empathy towards others, establish and sustain constructive relationships, and make responsible choices. For us, at Bal Swan, social-emotional learning serves as the foundation upon which we construct all other aspects of academic learning.
In our educational approach, we integrate art, music, and ample physical activity into our lesson plans. We prioritize individualization, continuously collect assessment data, and adjust our instruction to meet each child's specific needs. This includes gradually reducing support as students become more proficient in their learning.
Collaborating closely with parents and caregivers holds utmost importance, as does our interdisciplinary teamwork with Bal Swan therapists.
The pyramid approach is evident in each and every classroom, in the form of visual supports, routine and schedules, positive language and redirection, modeling positive communication, and developing positive behaviors.
To ensure that every child receives the personalized instruction required for their optimal growth and development, Bal Swan maintains exceptionally low teacher-to-student ratios. Here, at Bal Swan, your child is not just a name but is truly "KNOWN" and "SEEN," cherished for their unique contributions to our learning community.
